**Core Chain Updates
HTLC Atomic Swap Integration**
- Core Chain has begun the implementation of a fully trustless and chain-agnostic interoperability protocol, which will initially function between Core-EVM and Ethereum. Users of Core Chain will be able to swap Ether or any ERC20 tokens between Core-EVM and Ethereum trustlessly, without a third party.
- The team plans to extend the HTLC atomic swap protocol to Core-EVM and Bitcoin, and then include compatibility for BRC-20 and Ordinals. By the end of 2024, Core Chain users will be able to swap Bitcoin, BRC-20 tokens, Ordinals, ERC-20 tokens and more.
- The Core Chain team are building a decentralized orderbook where any user who wishes to trade compatible assets between Core Chain, Bitcoin, and EVM chains, can trustlessly create an order and swap assets without slippage or MEV risk.
Bitcoin Alignment
BRC-20 Tokens on Bitcoin Blockchain: Advocacy for BRC-20 tokens by CoreDAO contributor Rich Rines, aiming to bring utility and innovation to the Bitcoin ecosystem.
Core Africa Innovation Fund Announcement: The $5 million Core Africa Innovation Fund is intended to support local Web3 builders, emphasizing sustainable and decentralized applications.
