What is Core Ignition Drop?
At its core (no pun intended), Core Ignition is all about fueling the growth of BTCfi on the Core blockchain. When the Core community kicked off Season 1, the goal was simple: to give developers, dApps, and users the tools and incentives they needed to get involved and grow alongside Core.
And it worked!
The Journey from Ignition Season 1
Season 1 of Ignition was where it all began. Core saw over 14 BTCfi projects like Solv, Pell, Colend, Glyph, COREx, NLX and ALEX, along with 50K users, come together to explore what building on Core could really mean. Here’s what stood out:
For everyone: The program allows for anyone to join and start contributing to the Core ecosystem. Users can interact with Core ecosystem dApps to enter and enhance engagement with various strategies and maximize rewards.
15+ Ignition Drop partners: Core developers and partners had everything they needed to get started—tools, resources, guides, and a supportive community. Partners are empowered to build dApps with better user experiences to support traffic and demands from Ignition.
Core Community Growth: Ignition played a key role in bringing together a vibrant community of BTCfi enthusiasts. Core Ignition Drop attracted 50K user signups and 200K+ social reach via 20+ engagement campaigns on various community channels
Sparks
Core Ignition Drop introduced Sparks in Season 1—a metric designed to fuel engagement and participation within the Core ecosystem. Sparks represent a dynamic way to measure users’ contributions to the growth and vitality of the Core community while earning rewards for their active involvement.
Sparks allowed users to earn extra rewards for participating in the ecosystem. They’re a bit like loyalty points—but way more fun. Sparks served as a measure of user activity and engagement within the Core ecosystem. They were awarded based on the interactions and contributions made by users and their teams, reflecting their level of involvement and commitment to the Core community. In Season 1, Sparks were awarded daily based on the amount of assets on Core being held in a wallet.

One of the biggest highlights of Season 1 was that several dApps integrated Sparks for their users. Overall, 15 asset multipliers across 8 tiers allowed users to boost their Spark points based on their on-chain activity on Core.
Rewards: Billions of Sparks were distributed in Season 1, and Season 2 has even more in store.
