Core Ignition is leveling up. With the launch of Season 3, get ready for a fresh set of features, a revamped Sparks earning system, and a smoother onboarding experience. Whether you’re already racking up points or just getting started, there’s plenty to be excited about.
Season 2 to Season 3: What’s Changing?
A new season means a fresh start—but not everything resets. If you earned badges in Season 2, you’re in luck. They’ll carry over to Season 3, and each one is worth 50,000 Sparks right out of the gate.
The leaderboard, however, resets. When Season 3 kicks off at 12:00 PM UTC on March 12, everyone’s Spark count goes back to zero. The first Sparks of the season will be allocated at 00:00 UTC on March 13, so expect the race to heat up fast.
Unlocking your invite link is now easier. Instead of bridging $100 worth of assets, you now only need $50—giving you faster access to referral Sparks and more opportunities to grow your earnings.
A Smarter Dashboard for Season 3
Ignition’s dashboard is getting a serious upgrade, making it easier than ever to track progress and maximize Sparks. With better visibility into campaigns, rankings, and rewards, every action counts—and now, you can see exactly how.

One of the biggest additions is Targeted Messaging, which delivers curated content and updates from Core, tailored just for you. Whether it’s an update to your Sparks, a private campaign, or an important alert, you’ll get relevant information right on your dashboard.
Campaign tracking is also much clearer. The improved UI now shows both ongoing and ended campaigns, so you’ll always know where to focus your efforts. No more guessing which campaigns are still running—just check your dashboard and plan your next move.
A new Coretoshi Balance section will also be added (coming soon after launch), making it easy to see how many Coretoshi NFTs you hold and how many Sparks they generate. Plus, Activity Ranking now appears on the dashboard, showing your standing on the leaderboard and giving you an extra push to keep climbing.
Track Your Progress with the Upgraded Leaderboard
Season 3 is all about activity—and now you’ll be getting better insights into your performance. That’s why the Activity Leaderboard now tracks more than just transaction count.

One major update is Volume integration, which adds new columns for Transaction Volume and Volume Sparks. This ensures that both frequent transactions and high-value moves contribute to your ranking, giving a more complete picture of your activity.
With these upgrades, staying on top of Ignition has never been easier. Whether you’re stacking Sparks through small, frequent transactions or making big plays, the new leaderboard and dashboard ensure you get the credit you deserve.
New Spark Earning System: Constantly Climbing the Leaderboard (Even without Campaigns)
Season 3 introduces a revamped Spark mechanism that allocates Sparks to users based on a combination of:
Transaction Count: The number of transactions performed in a day.
Transaction Type: Different transactions get different amounts of Sparks.
💡Tip: Providing liquidity, borrowing, and getting a Coretoshi NFT are high-value transaction types.
Volume: The volume of a transaction now counts for calculating Sparks.
💡Tip: More volume = More Sparks
Referral Rewards: Earn Sparks from 1st & 2nd-degree referrals. Remember, now you only need to bridge $50 to unlock your invite link.
Asset Multipliers:

Season 3 introduces a revamped Baseline Sparks Mechanism, ensuring that even without campaigns, simply being active on Core earns you Sparks in a more rewarding way.
This update gives everyone more control over their progress. It’s all about staying active. Whether you’re making small, frequent transactions or executing high-value moves, there are ways to maximize your Sparks.
Sparks Slashing: Stay Active, Stay Rewarded
Ignition Season 3’s Sparks Slashing keeps rewards fair by prioritizing ongoing engagement. The mechanism kicks in one month after sign-up, with slashing calculations happening every Sunday.
If a user's average daily Sparks for a week are 90% lower than their average daily Sparks during the season, Sparks are slashed after the second violation. However, any new activity immediately halts slashing, ensuring rankings reflect real participation.
Avoiding slashing is simple: keep yourself active.
Campaign boosts and multipliers help outpace reductions, and users get warnings before slashing kicks in. Stay engaged, keep climbing, and maximize rewards all season long.
How Sparks Slashing Works
Spark Slashing mechanism is fully released and activated on April 14th, 2025.
From Thursday April 17th to Saturday April 19th all users get notified exactly once per week if they are on the way to get slashed to encourage them to generate activity and avoid it.
On Sunday April 20th, the first round of violation may occur. At that point, Sparks may be slashed based on the slashing calculation - this occurs every Sunday at 12AM UTC.
Slashing mechanism:
Inactive users lose Sparks: If a user earns 90% fewer Sparks than their average for a week, Sparks are slashed starting on the 2nd violation.
Slashing increases over time.
Users receive warnings before the slashing occurs.
Slashing Mechanism kicks in 1-month after sign-up.
Slashing calculation happens every Sunday
Violation criteria:
If the average daily Sparks for that week < Average daily sparks for the season * 10%
Slashing criteria:
Total accumulated Sparks * (0.9^# of violation - 1)
1st violation: Total Sparks * 0.9^0 = NO slashing
2nd violation: total sparks * 0.9^1 = 10% slashing
3rd violation: total sparks * 0.9^2 = 19% slashing
Example:
Assuming that a user got 50,000 total Sparks at the start of season 3 and no Sparks since then,
1st violation: NO slashing
2nd violation: 50,000 - 50,000 * (0.9 ^1) = 5,000 Sparks are deducted
3rd violation: 45000 - 45000*(0.9^2) = 8,550 Sparks are deducted
4th violation: 36,450 -36,450*(0.9^3) = 9,878 Sparks are deducted
What This Means for You
Sure, if you were active in Season 2, you’ve got a head start with badges. But with the new mechanism and lower invite requirements, Season 3 is going to be competitive - it’s the perfect time to level up your strategy.
Bridging assets early, inviting friends, and taking advantage of dApp activities can put you in a prime position, but remember, anything can happen as campaigns start to roll out..
Core Ignition Season 3 isn’t just a reset—it’s a chance to get more Sparks, climb the leaderboard, and engage with BTCfi like never before.
