Core is Now Receiving ~50% of All Bitcoin Mining Hash Power to Power Security
SpiderPool is the latest to join the growing list of mining pools allocating their hash power to Satoshi Plus consensus. In sum, Core is about halfway on the road to 100% hash power, meaning ~50% of all Bitcoin miners’ efforts are currently also contributing to the security model.
SpiderPool’s decision to join Satoshi Plus consensus is part of a broader trend of Bitcoin miners looking for additional reward streams in the wake of the upcoming Halving. As BTC base rewards are cut in half, Core is a leading example of a supplemental opportunity to earn sustainable rewards with effectively zero additional cost.
Additionally, by contributing to Core ’s security, miners and mining pools are expanding the Bitcoin Network’s scope of protection to steward in a new era of DeFi centered on Bitcoin. The more hash power hardening the Core blockchain network, the stronger its Bitcoin-alignment becomes as Satohsi Plus and Nakamoto Consensus reinforce one another, defending BTCfi and the bitcoin asset respectively.
