To support continued improvements in the Core ecosystem, Core Testnet1 will be officially deprecated on June 16, 2025. To ensure continued support, feature access, and compatibility, all developers building on Core and projects already deployed on Core Testnet1 must migrate to Core Testnet2 before June 16, 2025.
Why the Change?
Core Testnet2 is the latest and most stable testing environment for the Core blockchain, equipped with improved performance and security enhancements. It supports the latest features and products on the Core blockchain and offers active technical support. With Testnet1 being deprecated, it will no longer receive updates, support, or infrastructure uptime guarantees.
Core Testnet2 Configuration
Make sure your dApps, smart contracts, and integrations are using the following updated parameters:
RPC URL:
https://rpc.test2.btcs.networkChain ID:
1114(Hex:0x45a)Currency Symbol:
TCORE2Block Explorer: https://scan.test2.btcs.network
Staking Website: https://stake.test2.btcs.network
Migration Guidelines
To ensure a smooth transition from Testnet1 to Testnet2, it is recommended that developers follow the guidelines listed below.
1. Update Your Network Configuration
Replace any use of Testnet1 RPC and chain ID with the Testnet2 details in your applications, wallets, frontends, and scripts.
2. Redeploy Smart Contracts
Smart contracts deployed on Testnet1 will not be carried over. It is strongly suggested to redeploy all smart contracts to Testnet2 and reconfigure your frontends to interact with the new contract addresses.
3. Cross-Chain Considerations
If you're using LayerZero, note that Testnet2 is currently not supported.
Until support is added, use other cross-chain messaging solutions like:
Be sure to test any cross-chain interactions extensively before going live.
4. Using Safe (Gnosis Safe)
If you're using Safe, ensure you're interacting with the Testnet2-compatible version. Update your multisig configurations and test all transaction flows on the latest network.
5. Subgraph Integrations
If your project uses The Graph for querying blockchain data:
You must update your subgraph configuration to the latest Core Testnet2.
Refer to the official guide: Core Subgraph on Testnet2
Test Thoroughly
We strongly recommend testing your complete dApp flow, integrations, and any cross-chain or staking functionality exclusively on Core Testnet2 moving forward. The latest features, bug fixes, and network upgrades will only be available on Core Testnet2.
Important Dates
June 16, 2025 – Testnet1 Sunset
Access to Testnet1 RPC, explorer, and faucet will no longer be guaranteed after this date.
